Hydropulsor and Gasbarre Host Demonstration of Latest Generation of High-Velocity Compaction Presses

Hydropulsor AB and its United States distributor, Gasbarre Products, Inc., recently hosted a demonstration of the third generation of Hydropulsor’s high velocity compaction press at Gasbarre’s technical facility in Du Bois, PA. A number of powder metallurgy industry figures were in attendance to view a Hydroplusor HYP 35-40 press in operation, including Gasbarre customers and powder suppliers.The presses provide the ability to more economically produce higher density, higher performance parts than conventional powder presses. Densities for conventional powder materials of close to 100% of theoretical density can be achieved. Four presses are available. Approximate compacting forces are 2000 metric tons (2205 US tons), 900 metric tons (990 US tons), 350 metric tons (390 US tons), and 100 metric tons (110 US tons). The 100 metric ton press is intended for research and development. Hydropulsor’s high velocity compaction presses typically use conventional powder materials, but can provide higher green densities than traditional presses in a single compaction step. Part densities are highly uniform throughout each component, so part tolerances after sintering are very close. Gasbarre Products Inc. to build and service Heilbronn container presses in the US and Canada.

Heilbronn Container Presses Ltd., located in Heilbronn, Germany and Gasbarre Products, Inc., located in DuBois, Pennsylvania, USA have entered into a partnership to build and service the Heilbronn line of container presses in the US and Canada regions. Gasbarre is a well known manufacturer of power compaction presses and equipment worldwide for the powder metals industry. They also have a line of high speed stamping presses.The partnership will be able to offer the customer quality service that they would expect from Heilbronn. Gasbarre Products will work with the Heilbronn engineers and build and assemble the presses using their design. They will be able to offer trial runs and training before the equipment is shipped to the customers.
