GASBARRE PRODUCTS, INC. AND J. L. BECKER COMPANY, INC. REACH AGREEMENT FEBRUARY 7, 2011 We are pleased to announce an agreement has been reached between Gasbarre Products, Inc. and J. L. Becker Company, Inc. whereby Gasbarre Products will acquire the business and assets of J. L. Becker Co. Established in 1970, J. L. Becker Co. of Plymouth, Michigan manufactures a complete line of heat treating equipment including furnaces, atmosphere generators and auxiliary equipment. The J. L. Becker facility of 53,000 square feet houses sales, engineering and administrative offices, as well as furnace & machine fabricating and assembly areas. Becker''s staff of 40 employees will remain intact. They completely design, sell, manufacture and service the entire J. L. Becker Co. equipment line. The Furnace Group of Gasbarre Products now consists of Sinterite Products, C.I. Hayes, and J. L. Becker Company. This acquisition is an excellent strategic and synergistic fit within the group, because the Becker batch heat treating equipment line complements the Sinterite continuous belt furnace line as well as the C. I. Hayes vacuum and pusher furnace lines. Combined, Gasbarre now has one of the most extensive product offerings in the heat treating industry. John Becker, founder of J. L. Becker Co. will continue with the company. Steven K. Smith, Gasbarre Products’ Furnace Division President, will oversee the Gasbarre Furnace Division, consisting of the three furnace companies. Gasbarre Products will continue to operate the new furnace division under the J. L. Becker Company banner in the present Plymouth, Michigan facilities with the current staff of employees. Sinterite Products will continue to operate in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, and C.I. Hayes remains in Cranston, Rhode Island. To find out more about the new Gasbarre Products, Inc.
